This is the third time we have stayed here and it it is just as good as the previous times.

Two nights in the October of 2026.

Firstly the location of the hotel is superb. Right on the road that runs along the top of the cliff - however don't expect any noise from that as traffic is severely restricted. It's a short walk to the high street with plenty going on, another short walk to the ruined priory. A bit further away (but still easily walkable) is the Metro station that takes you into Newcastle.

Previously we have stayed in the 'premium rooms', but this time we decided on one of the cheaper rooms. The cost was £308 for two nights BnB, including parking. There is a small parking area out the front of the hotel, but I believe they own other parking round the corner.

Cleanliness was bang on and the room was large enough with a great view. Breakfast on both mornings was excellent and the service was second to none.

One weird thing about the room was the plug sockets. Plenty of them, but loads in the wrong place. There's a whole wall that has the TV on it, a massive full length mirror and a large enough desk. But only one plug socket (taken up by the TV).

Nowhere to plug in a laptop or hair dryer. Had to unplug the TV - plug my handy extension lead in and put it on the stool underneath the TV so I could use my laptop on the desk and my good lady could use the hairdryer in front of the mirror.

I'd stay there again - really friendly and professional team.

What can we say. I almost don’t want to praise this hotel as it will become more well known. But that would be selfish and don a disservice to this wonderful hotel. The room was “wow”, the breakfast tasty and the drawing room is a calm oasis. Staff are tip top and the only gripe I can’t find it difficulty in parking. But even diamonds are hard to dig out!

Lovely location, excellent hotel, overlooking a glorious bay, fine comfortable room, good food and service.
